After a somewhat sluggish start against a spirited Barnstaple side battling for points at the wrong end of the table, Bristol Manor Farm finally found their scoring form to clinch 3 more points and tighten their grip on a promotion play–off spot.
It was a day on which Farm striker Dean Stamp also rediscovered his scoring touch, putting The Portwaymen 1-0 up on 7 minutes when he neatly lobbed Barnstaple keeper Aaron Screech.
Barnstaple hit straight back four minutes later when a low, fizzing corner was lashed into the net from ten yards by Nathan Cooper.
The goal stung the home side into action, carving numerous chances before Cory Simpson went close just past the half hour when he slammed the ball against the angle of post and bar.
Farm extended their lead a minute before half time when skipper Jordan Metters 20 yard effort took a wicked bounce to beat a diving Screech.
The second half was all Manor Farm and substitute Kye Holly made the score 3-1 blasting home a penalty kick after Jack Durrant had been brought down following a skillful, mazy run into the box.
Farm substitute Rex Mannings also made an impression, playing a pivotal role in Farm’s fourth and fifth goals. On 79 minutes the young loanee battled to win the ball back in midfield and fed Metters who coolly drilled home across Screech from 15 yards.
Two minutes later, Mannings was at it again – feeding Metters once more who managed to screw the ball back from the byline for Stamp to steer home his second from close range.
