Farm boss Lee Lashenko will have been delighted with his teams first half performance, rattling in all 3 goals before the break, and a dogged second half defensive display to keep a clean sheet and improve his sides goal difference in the race for play-off places.
Farm took the lead in the 11th minute when great work down the middle from Dean Stamp set up Troy Simpson to drive home low from 15 yards.
Farm extended their lead ten minutes later when John Lock’s goal-bound header from a Jordan Metters corner kick was helped into the net via the further head of full back Aron Robbins.
Ashley Clarke in the Manor Farm goal produced the first of a string of great saves when he denied Slimbridge’s Marley Thomas just before the half hour mark. Sam Turl almost pulled a goal back for the visitors when he struck a post with the Farm back four stretched.
Farm went into a 3-0 lead six minutes before the break when Jack Durrant’s audacious chip came back off the crossbar where Dean Stamp was on hand to gleefully knock the ball home from close range.
Stamp went just wide after the break and ten minutes into the second half Clarke produced another world-class stop, diving full stretch to his top corner to palm away a ferocious drive by Joe Stokes.
Farm had chances to increase their lead but it was Clarke and his steady back four who ensured that those early goals and precious three points stayed firmly in the bank.
