Cory, Kyle and Coxy sign on for the Farm

Despite no game of football today, Manor Farm have been busy, today we have completed the signings of Cory Simpsons from Salisbury, Kyle Thomas from Hallen and Jake Cox, who is dual signed from Roman Glass.

Cory Simpson is a brilliant versitile winger who has scored ten goals already this season, leaving him four behind his brother Troy! Lee Lashenko has been watching Cory for a while now and we are all very glad Cory has decided to join us despite interest from elsewhere. I asked Cory a few questions when he signed up:

First of all, welcome to Manor Farm. What is it you hope to achieve here?

I hope to play well and help get promotion to the Southern League Prem.

How big an influence was Troy Simpson in you joining?

He’s been a big influence on me signing . I played with him a few seasons ago and we play well together so I hope it’s the same again once we play together here.

How well do you know the other players in the squad?

I know most of the side already just from playing against them in previous years.

With you and Troy now at Manor Farm and Kye and Kane at Mangotsfield, do you think there will be an extra bit of rivalry if we’re both in the same league next season?

There’s always going to be rivalry between us because we’re a very competitive family. So I think it will just be as competitive as it always is when we play each other.

When you first heard Manor Farm wanted you did you know you wanted to join or was it a tough decision to make?

It was a tough decision because I could of potentially gone back to Larkhall, because I did enjoy it there, and got on well with the players and management. But I think signing for Manor Farm who are looking to get promoted is the right decision because the Southern Prem will be a new challenge for me.

Also joining us are former players Jake Cox and Kyle Thomas. Fans probably remember Jake Cox, mainly because he already played for us earlier this season! He returns to us dual signed with Roman Glass.

Long-time fans may remember Kyle Thomas too who played for us six years ago before leaving England to do an American scholarship. He joins from Hallen and will go straight into the squad for Tuesday’s game against Bishops Cleeve.

Welcome to Manor Farm guys!

After that we’ll host old friends Larkhall Athletic, who we’ll also be travelling to for the Boxing Day fixture. New Years Day has us hosting Paulton Rovers.

For the end of the season we’ll be hosting Barnstaple Town on the 14th of April, who we are very familiar with, before two tough games where we first travel to Taunton Town on the 21st of April and finally, the final game of the season, where we’ll host league runner-ups Salisbury at the Creek on the 28th of April.

All fixtures are subject to change of course but so far we’re confident we can make a mark in the Southern League West. A tough start and a tough end to the season but all-in-all a kind fixture list for us.
